Removing Moisture from your watch
I was caught in the rain yesterday and was soaking wet, including my watch. Then I’d discovered that my watch had moisture trapped inside. I had to remove it soon.
Since I didn’t want to open it up, dap it with a dry cloth and then sealing it back, I had to think of other ways. I also refused to use a hair-dryer thinking that the rubber o-ring or what-not may shrink further or be out of size after the whole exercise. So I decided to use this method and it works.
I discovered I could actually remove moisture droplets from inside the watch without opening it. Well, all you need is an old discarded air deodorizer with the empty fragrance bottle.
Here’s how:-
Pix1 shows my watch with some moisture inside and the old air deodorizer I’ll be using.
Pix2 shows how I’ve placed the watch over the deodorizer and turning it ON for the night. The idea is that the fragrance bottle is empty and of course filled with air. By turning it ON, I’m actually heating the air inside and we all know that hot air rises. Thus, I have heated air gently evaporating the moisture on the glass surface of my poor watch.
Pix3 shows the watch dry, fine and ticking!
Hope this helps those of you in a similar situation. I suppose it will work with any watch too. Try it at your own risk though.
Cheers!
