Steamer Trunk Watch Winder

It was a satisfying moment after 3 months and 6 days as I finally see the completed product roll out of the factory floor.




I was commissioned to do some designing work for a furniture company late April 2010. Through recommendations, a customer had contracted them to fabricate a special watch winder. All that was given to me was instruction to do something different, his taste for music and the approximate number of watches he owns.



The preliminary discussions were very sketchy. But since I was given free-reign to draft out the overall specifications, I went ahead with planning the concept in my mind. As usual, the advance payment part was the starting point where I began my drawings. I was given a month to source for the materials I want and finalize my plans for the furniture company.

We had two units built just in case something goes wrong with the original. Luckily, all went smooth. We didn’t just satisfy our customer. We had surprised him too.
