Buying Watch Winders from Agents, Dealers and Resellers

One big issue many buyers of Watch Winders forget is the question of REPAIRS!

I’m sure many potential buyers will ask about Warranties and will be innocently satisfied when hearing the One or even Two Year warranty. Impressive right?!?! What’s next?

They (the buyers) should then ask,
1) But what about the repairs?
2) Will there be any repair cost within the warranty period?
3) Where will it be repaired? Locally or sent to Country of Origin?
4) Who pays for freight, insurance and custom tariffs, shipping to and from repair site?
5) How long will the repairs take? How do we track it?
6) What about Technical Support if I need to ask questions?

If and unless the user has bags full of cash, then he can make it a BATA unit. It’s a Buy-And-Throw-Away unit. Can one afford throwing away S$300 hard earned cash? I feel it will be such a waste unless out-of-warranty repairs could be done at probably 20% (or less) of the product cost, while repairs for units under warranty are at no cost!

The thing about Cheap Watch Winders is that the prices are already low; the resellers cannot afford to keep stock on spares for repairs. At such prices, the units are meant to be thrown away when broken. For that kind of price, it is only logical the reseller would give warranty for the motor and a short warranty period for that matter. That’s the life expectancy of the cheap motor. I strongly feel a good unit is always repairable and can (SHOULD) be fixed. I’m not an advocate for the GAYA Movement or anything, but it’ll be such a waste.

Think about it.
