Making it Blue

After a few mugs of beer, I decided to step up a notch. I’ll pay someone to program an IC that will do all the sequencing, TPD controls, winding direction and winding status indication.

Since I had already designed the circuit, all the parts were soldered on first including an 18 pin socket awaiting to receive the essential IC.

I bought a few OTPs from RS Component.

One big problem with my design (discovered at the end) was it always required a weight to counter-balance the front, otherwise it’ll tip over. So to solve this issue, I just simply place 4 pieces of AA-size batteries inside. So now it works from either AC Mains or 4 AA-size Batteries.

Specifications: -

3 Winding Directions_____ CW, CCW & Alternating

3 TPD Settings _________ 650, 850 & 1000 TPD

_____________________ - Wind 1 rotation, Stop 2.00 minutes (650TPD)

_____________________ - Wind 1 rotation, Stop 1.47 minutes (850TPD)

_____________________ - Wind 1 rotation, Stop 1.23 minutes (1000TPD)

Display Mode __________ Rotating for shop-front viewing

LED Indicators_________ Power ON, Resting

Battery Low ___________Separate circuit used.

As usual, this will be tested again and already a friend has agreed to help me! He has been eagerly waiting for the longest time. Sorry Albert!

I will be posting an update much later about the test results.
